An ongoing feature in the run to the Whitehouse this year will be the candidate deadpool, Deadpool 2008. I’ve been waiting for the Iowa Caucuses to use as a starting point when the field would narrow from 16 candidates across the parties to what will eventually be two. Our first entry into the pool? Democratic contender Chris Dodd after finishing with a mere 1 delegate, biting at the heels of “uncommitted” with 3 delegates. One has to wonder how long it will be until Democrats Kucinich and Gravel, finishing with 0 delegates, join Dodd in the Deadpool 2008. (After I wrote this, Joe Biden joined the Deadpool 2008 as well.)
On the Republican side of the aisle, Giuliani and Hunter look to be in trouble collecting 4% and 1% of caucus votes respectively. Ron Paul is on the edge of viability with 10%. Everyone is talking about the top of the food chain, that’s why I decided to focus on the bottom (they tend to be more interesting candidates anyway…)
Congratulations Chris Dodd and Joe Biden, our inaugural Deadpool 2008 entries. Undoubtably, you won’t be the last entrants.
