The Navy nearly sunk the Buckeye’s ship by never giving up. Hats off to them for playing the full 60 minutes. Something our Buckeyes could learn. It was a win and we’ll take it, but doesn’t provide great confidence rolling into a week against an opponent like USC (who is, at the moment trailing national powerhouse San Jose State by 3 points in the second quarter.)

The good, it’s a win. The bad, the offensive line doesn’t seem to be much different than last year and we don’t have Beanie toting the mail this year. The ugly, the Buckeye secondary looks very, very vulnerable. The only thing that is providing any hope for next week is that USC seems to be sucking worse against a traditionally pitiful opponent. At least Navy is good. In the end, I like it that a real opponent was present in the ‘Shoe for the opener – in the end, I think this helps the team.

I can’t help shake the feeling that this is a 3-4 loss season though. Let’s hope I’m wrong! GO BUCKS!

I haven’t had much time to write about it, but the new college football season started Thursday night and the Bucks play at 9am this morning against Navy at the Horseshoe. It’s been a long eight months since we last saw the Scarlet and Gray in action and I can’t wait to see how the new team performs.

With their triple-option running attack, Navy will be a challenge for a relatively new defense to contain. That should be an interesting battle. And the offense always seems to be behind the defense, even so, I expect the running attack to be working behind a revamped line and going against an under-sized Navy defense. What to expect? Who the heck knows.

I think Navy scores some points, but in the end, Ohio State will score more. How’s that? It will be great to watch and see how the team works together this season. GO BUCKS!

While the first half of this video is a bit of a rambling chat from Penn, the last part nails it. If you believe in a “god” and that “god” instructed you through some means that you believed to kill your child, would you do it? If the answer is no, you’re not really a believer. If the answer is yes, you’re dangerous, deranged, and need help. It’s a handy way to separate those voices in your head for believers and if you’d simply post the answer in some public way, that would be helpful for the rest of us.

This is the video that has conservatives knickers in a twist all around the country and is being called socialist propaganda. Take a look and judge for yourself. It’s celebrity heavy to be sure, but values like patriotism, self-reliance, taking action, making a pledge – these don’t sound like we’re watching the same video as the right-wing blogosphere. Hmm. Makes you wonder.
