Transcript (the image is tough to read.)
This is the actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. Radio conversation release by the chief of naval operations 10-10-95.
CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.
CANADIANS: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
CANADIANS: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.
AMERICANS: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied by three Destroyers, three Cruisers, and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course 15 degrees north. I say again, that’s one-five degrees north, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
CANADIANS: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
And this is a joke, completely bogus. See the comments for details.
Funny, but check snopes

Doug, the good ones are always fiction…
They’re often the BEST ones, I have the purported Mrs Fields Cookie recipe (found it in a EMACS distro years ago). The cookies are great and the story is pretty good as well.
BTW, I’m not seeing much traffic from BlogRush either, at least not anything the Google Analytics is showing.
I remember that one, it was priceless. Have to dig that up and post it on a slow day.
As for BlogRush, yes, it’s disappointing thus far. The largest referrer of traffic to this site is StumbleUpon, followed by Google search and Microsoft search. After that, it all gets lost in the noise…..BlogRush is going to get a little more time, but I think it’s probably not going to do the trick. There’s simply too much noise and not enough traffic to justify the screen real estate.
