This is a striking image, probably a HDR photo, of the 468m (1535′) Pearl Tower in the Pudong district of Shanghai. Across the river is The Bund, which feels more like Prague than China. This is the first photo I’ve seen that captures part of the essence of Shanghai as I experienced it a couple of years ago. It felt like living in the BladeRunner movie… This is a view from a hotel in Pudong, a very similar view to what I had from my room.
Excellent photo. I can almost taste the pollution you can see hanging over the city.
I think thats probably the biggest downside to Shanghai I found.
I must have been lucky, the few days I was there it was clean, clear, and hot. Beijing was a different matter, that was definitely pollution city. Makes LA smog seem clean by comparison.
