You likely can’t tell yet, but we’ve completed our maintenance around here. (BTW, that’s the best kind of maintenance, the kind you don’t notice.) This constitutes the first post in the new digs…
Things are still a little goofy as the DNS changes are taking time to propagate, but we’re generally finished. What did we do? Well, we moved from a shared server to a dedicated server, updated our system and application software, changed networks, and staged a new montaraventures.com site. So it’s been pretty busy the last 24 hours.
Stay tuned, as soon as the DNS is settled down and testing is complete, we’ll be separating my personal blog (this site) from the montaraventures.com content and site. What does that mean? Well, energy and business posts will likely appear only on the new site and this site will have the non-business, personal stuff. Other than that, the address remains the same as does the feed, so no need for action unless you’d like to view/subscribe to the new content (which I certainly hope you’ll do.) More on this in the very near future.

Hello readers. Over the next couple of days I’ll be performing some system maintenance and upgrades. Publishing may become a little irregular during this time period, I’ll make the content interruption as brief as possible. But, in the end, I think you’ll like where we’re going…

A man uses a chainsaw to physically split his summer home with his wife as part of the divorce settlement. He uses a forklift to put his half on a truck, and drives it away. Probably not exactly what the courts or his wife had in mind. At least no one was hurt.

Raser Technologies, an electric motor and generator maker in Utah, has announced this week that it has identified several targets for a drilling program on geothermal properties in Nevada. Raser had something of a false start with a planned acquisition of AMP Resources that was not consummated, but it appears they are on track to use a license of the Kalina binary cycle technology from AMP coupled with their generators to develop geothermal properties and plants. Raser’s greenfield projects will be instructive to observe as they progress through time.
