The photo of the tree slice above is located in Lovelock, Nevada. It was in front of a gas station in town in the middle of the desert about 100 miles east of Reno on I-80. Field work is pretty interesting and I had a great time hanging out with Andy, a professional geologist and all around good egg. I get the feeling I’m going to get to know Lovelock over the next few years…. Tweet
