If you write a blog and use WordPress, the one indispensible utility you must use is Akismet. It’s a filter for comment spam and boy does it work. To date, 74.9% of the comments submitted to this blog are spam. Akismet catches them, corrals them, and deletes them automatically. All I have to do is skim them to see if there are any false positive hits (there have been 3 instances in the 4 months I’ve used the utility.)

Take it from me, Akismet is a real time saver and aggrevation avoider. Try it and you’ll see for yourself.
