Grenade salvage gone awry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nTuesday in Brazil, a workman trying to free scrap metal from a rocket propelled grenade managed <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/nm\/20060809\/od_nm\/brazil_grenade_dc_1\">to kill himself, wound a colleague, and destroy his workshop<\/a>. The explosion apparently was the result of using a sledgehammer (yes, he was beating on an item intended to a) propel itself at high speed toward a target and b) explode) to break open the shell.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nGarden variety rocket propelled grenade<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.montaraventures.com\/pix\/RPG.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nGarden variety hand propelled grenade<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.montaraventures.com\/pix\/handgrenade.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nUnfortunately, this isn&#8217;t the first time this sort of accident has happened with live ammunition. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darwinawards.com\/\">The Darwin Awards<\/a>, the ultimate recognition for mankind&#8217;s varied and stupid ways to thin the gene pool, has many different stories.
