
{"id":583,"date":"2007-09-08T12:25:33","date_gmt":"2007-09-08T19:25:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/montaraventures.com\/blog\/2007\/09\/08\/buckeyes-get-past-zips-20-2\/"},"modified":"2007-09-08T12:25:33","modified_gmt":"2007-09-08T19:25:33","slug":"buckeyes-get-past-zips-20-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montaraventures.com\/blog\/2007\/09\/08\/buckeyes-get-past-zips-20-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Buckeyes get past Zips, 20-2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bucks managed to overcome -4 turnovers, a safety, and overall offensive sluggish-ness to <a href=\"https:\/\/scores.espn.go.com\/ncf\/boxscore?gameId=272510194&#038;confId=5\" target=\"_blank\" >smother the Zips at the Horseshoe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>The Good<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Defense: Wow, 69 yards of total offense, 3 first downs, and one forced fumble.<\/li>\n<li>Despite mulitple quick change situations, the defense dominated.<\/li>\n<li>The running game finally got going with 176 yards on the day.<\/li>\n<li>Fewer stupid penalties.<\/li>\n<li>The team overcame some adversity to still pull out the win, lots to learn about for next week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Bad<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Dropped interceptions, missed opportunities, leaving points on the board.<\/li>\n<li>The first half offense &#8211; 3 points in eight possessions.<\/li>\n<li>Regression of the offense from the prior week&#8217;s outing.<\/li>\n<li>Offensive line play improved throughout the course of the game, but is still clearly a work in progress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Ugly<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Turnovers: 5 on the day, -4 for the game.<\/li>\n<li>Lack of synchronicity on the offensive line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the Buckeyes turn in a performance like we saw today, Washington will win in Seattle next week. It&#8217;s not often a team can lose the turnover battle like the Buckeyes did today and walk away with the win. Well, that&#8217;s it for this post-game report.
