{"id":1258,"date":"2008-07-26T08:23:27","date_gmt":"2008-07-26T15:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/montaraventures.com\/blog\/?p=1258"},"modified":"2008-07-26T08:23:27","modified_gmt":"2008-07-26T15:23:27","slug":"around-the-world-in-eight-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montaraventures.com\/blog\/2008\/07\/26\/around-the-world-in-eight-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Around the World in Eight Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center>The First Stage of the Trip<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/montaraventures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/stage1.jpg\" alt=\"World Map showing my trip around the globe in 8 days\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nTimes have changed since the book Around the World in Eighty Days was written, so much so that going around the world in eight days is viewed as &#8220;slow.&#8221; My journey started on Thursday departing SFO for Boston &#8211; ostensibly a 6 hour flight time &#8211; for what turned into a 12 hour marathon which included crew intrigue, equipment problems, bad weather, and lack of fuel&#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nSuffice to say, I arrived early Friday morning and was able to conduct business, if a little bleary eyed in so doing.
