I read the linked article with interest. One thing cropped up yesterday, the pregnancy pact was a myth - there is simply no evidence that it existed in any premeditated form. That being said, I think much of the thesis of the article is correct in that the government is taking on the role of families in many cases, Americans lack fiscal discipline, and something needs to change.
