In the final analysis, "The City of the Edge of Forever" will have a greater impact on humanity than the Hillary Clintons and Condi Rices of the world. It deserves to. Any cretin can and will occupy political office these days, but Harlan Ellison...his work is timeless.

To be clear Howard, I'm not at all concerned about an actual solution. I'm concerned that the administration will be busy misunderestimating (their word) the problems and ramming through policies that make the problem worse. If ever there was a George Costanza "do the opposite" kind of president, it's Bush. Whatever impulse he has, he should do the opposite and we'd have a better success record!

I'm hopeful he just decides to take an extended vacation, it is possible to try to do too much!

I wouldn't worry too much about the possibility of Bush engineering peace in the Middle East. Better minds than those in his administration haven't been able to do that. And according to Steve Clemons at The Washington Note, even the Israelis are underwhelmed with the Bushes. Regarging Rice's recent visit: "According to a source very close to Prime Minister Ehud Ohlmert, she doesn't even ask questions about the basic positions on each side so as to understand the "gaps" and then to offer ideas."

WSP, don't care for the notion of that ticket. Hillary would be a good Sec State, but she's not Presidential material. The fact that she's now cracked the code to get votes (i.e., run recycled Bush ads) should have people running for the hills. In fact, if Hillary gets the nomination, I have to carefully consider who I would vote for. If it's Obama, the decision is easy.

Hey; your Ohio fathers voted for Hillary (OK so one of us actually voted for Ron Paul).
What about an Obama/Clinton ticket?
