Great comment CFBFan, It's my intent next year to include all DI conferences. As you say, the MWC has a comparable record.

MWC 2007:

OOC Record, 24-17= 68%

No DIAA OOC Record, 12-7 = 63%

OOC BCS Record (including bowl games as above), 9-10= 47%

Bowl Record= 4-1 (Air Force QB went down with knee injury and Cal came from way behind to win).

Although the MWC is ranked 7th of all conferences, from these stats it looks like it is in good company with several of the BCS conferences this year.

Another interesting stat is that over the last 5 years, the MWC has nearly a 69% win record in bowl games. Over the same period, the other 11 conferences have the following bowl win records:

SEC- 63%

Pac-10- 59%

Big East- 58%

Big 12- 52%

ACC- 48%

WAC- 47%

C-USA- 41%

Big 10- 39%

Sun Belt- 33%

MAC- 30%

While the MWC plays against mainly top level “mid-major” and mid-level BCS competition in its bowls, I think it begs the question as to if it would be much worse than other BCS conferences if it competed with mid to upper BCS level competition.

Do you have the last 4-5 years stats for the BCS as given above? I would love to see how the MWC stacks up.
