Ok, to really bring this down in humor: our dinner conversation tonight was on the Holocaust and the studies that followed on human nature. My daughter was saying that one result found is that humans tend to be obedient and followers. There have been several studies where a subject "knowingly" inflicts harm (they think they are, but they aren't, so that the "actor" isn't really hurt) because they're told it's "ok" to keep going because it's essential to the experiment. We see things like this video and think they're "funny" because they're presented in an entertainment format. We would like to believe (in fact, I'd really like to believe) that these are actors too, that they are not really being hurt, but the wincing that happens makes me wonder otherwise...

Ok, now you need to post something silly so I can show everyone that I'm not the turd in the punchbowl. :)

Exactly the point, thus my titles. Though I have to admit, I did chuckle a little - but mostly when thinking about subjecting Congress to the approach to help them curb their "urges."

This is *terrible*! Why would *anyone* put themselves through this for "entertainment"? It can't be healthy! It looks extremely painful. And inflicting pain on people is funny? Who are we as a global society that we find entertainment value in something like this? I am very, very worried...

Ok, so I'm a wet blanket...
