Mike the Aguirre family is extremely grateful for all your efforts. As I stated to Paris Bingham yesterday it's like a void has been created where there once stood people I really respected, admired, and looked up too. I do not and will not take for granted the opportunity you gave me. The chance to work for Sun. A dream come true. For now I accept your challenge of doing whatever it takes to help Sun succeed. It's the least I can do for all those like yourself who have made the sacrifice. Best of Luck on your new endeavors. I'm certain further success awaits you!

We're all really sorry to see you go. You were, by far, the best leader and VP that we've ever had. Far too often we get the new leader who holds a single "rah-rah" meeting and is then never seen again. You held true to your promise of constant and honest communication and learned the names and faces of all 600 people in your organization. Most VPs don't bother to learn anyone other than their immediate reports. Thanks for the good times.

I was in the first Sun layoff in 2001. It was gut-wrenching until it actually happened, and then it actually seemed like a relief. Good luck.
